Physiotherapy intervention is not only limited to post-injury rehabilitation. A physiotherapy assessment is a great way to ensure you are getting the most benefit out of the time you're dedicating to your health and fitness.
Whether you're a beginner and not sure where to start, trying to shed a few pounds, or trying to improve on your triathlon times, we can help.
During your initial assessment, we will evaluate your posture, gait, balance, form, and any areas of weakness. Based on your fitness goals, you will receive individualized treatment, advice and a detailed plan of action.
Regular checkups with your physiotherapist will help you stay on track and avoid injury on your path to a better you.
Running is often perceived as a good option for "getting into shape," with little thought given to form, or mechanics of running. As many as 79% of all runners will sustain a running-related injury during any given year (J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 2015;45(8):585. doi:10.2519/jospt.2015.0503).
At In-Form Physiotherapy we offer a running assessment for individual runners, both casual and competitive, to prevent injuries and improve running mechanics.
During your initial appointment, a physiotherapist will assess your posture, static and dynamic balance. Part of the assessment incorporates videotaping of the patient on a treadmill. At the end of the assessment, we will make recommendations for footwear, running form/technique, and exercises to improve any muscle imbalances.
